JSC “Sigma Telas” specializes in the development of intelligent systems for energy facility automation, energy resource management, and metering. The company implements engineering projects of various scales — from national-level systems to cloud-based energy metering systems for small businesses.
Over more than 30 years of operation (since 1992), the company has implemented more than 700 projects, the majority of which are complex large-scale projects. This can be considered the company’s core specialization. The company operates in many countries, primarily in the Baltic States, Central Asia, and Ukraine. The solutions developed by the company have been most widely deployed at the national level in Lithuania and Kazakhstan, where the systems have been implemented across all levels of the electric power system hierarchy (national transmission networks, distribution networks, various power plants, large energy consumers, cross-border data exchange, and integration with balancing market systems). National-level energy metering systems have also been implemented in Kyrgyzstan (at the Kyrgyz Energy Settlement Center) and in Uzbekistan (for the Uzbek gas transmission system operator). Such national-level solutions are interconnected through a system implemented at the Central Asian Coordination and Dispatch Center, designed for the accounting of technical and commercial energy flows among all Central Asian countries.
As energy distribution companies worldwide transition to smart metering solutions in the retail electricity, gas, heating, and water markets, large-scale automation and energy metering deployment projects are being implemented, with system capacities reaching hundreds of thousands and millions of meters. The architecture of the company’s solutions is designed to support tens of millions of meters and enables the integration of different utility resources (for example, electricity and gas) into a single system. Various communication technologies are supported, including modern Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, while an extensive set of analytical and visualization tools enables a wide range of tasks, including balance calculations, forecasting, evaluation and identification of technical and commercial losses, as well as equipment fault detection and prevention. In cooperation with scientific institutions, the system is continuously evolving through the addition of new capabilities, including the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence models.
Among the company’s implemented projects are also large-scale corporate systems. These include projects implemented for railway and airport companies, telecommunications operator systems with thousands of automated sites, retail chains managing hundreds of shopping centers across multiple countries — where larger shopping centers may contain hundreds of meters for tenant and internal consumption accounting of all types of energy resources — as well as industrial enterprise systems integrating energy accounting for operational consumption, energy generated by proprietary power plants, and energy supplied to their own customers. As energy storage technologies continue to evolve, tasks related to optimal energy storage management are naturally being integrated into the system.
In addition to providing systems for on-premises deployment, “Sigma Telas” also offers cloud-based services (SaaS – Software as a Service) in Lithuanian, English, German, Russian, and Polish languages. Many Lithuanian companies already use this service, and through partners, similar services are also provided in Central Asian countries.
